Low Tide Retreats is a locally owned vacation rental company serving the Grand Strand of South Carolina, built on years of experience, long-standing relationships, and a deep understanding of the local market.

After spending so much time in the industry, it became clear that great property management isn’t just about bookings. It’s about how a property is cared for, how guests are treated, and how owners feel throughout the entire process. The details matter. The communication matters. And the way a property is maintained behind the scenes matters just as much as the guest experience itself.

Low Tide Retreats was created to do things a little differently. We take a more hands-on, thoughtful approach by combining strong communication, attention to detail, and real-world experience in both property management and construction. This ensures every property is not only guest-ready, but consistently cared for over time.

From coordinating stays to handling the day-to-day and everything in between, our goal is simple. To create a seamless experience for guests while giving owners confidence that their property is being managed with care, consistency, and intention.

Low Tide Retreats was founded by Sherry Gustafson, a longtime vacation rental professional with more than two decades of experience in the North Myrtle Beach and Myrtle Beach markets.

After years working in property management, operations, and guest services, Sherry created Low Tide Retreats to offer a more personal, intentional approach to vacation rentals — one that values quality over volume and relationships over transactions.

Her background spans every aspect of the vacation rental experience, from owner relations and revenue management to guest communication and day-to-day operations. That experience shapes how Low Tide Retreats approaches both guests and property owners: with clarity, care, and attention to detail.

Low Tide Retreats is being built thoughtfully and intentionally, with a focus on well-maintained homes, clear expectations, and long-term partnerships. Whether you’re planning a future stay or exploring management for your property, the goal is simple: make the experience feel easy, well-handled, and worth coming back to.

Low Tide Retreats is supported by Bruce Gustafson Jr, a seasoned contractor and the owner of Low Tide Interiors Powered by B.W. Gustafson, with years of hands-on experience in residential construction, remodeling, and property maintenance.

Bruce began his career in construction at a young age and brings a deep understanding of building systems, craftsmanship, and property care. His expertise spans everything from structural work and renovations to day-to-day maintenance and problem-solving.

Through his work with Low Tide Retreats, Bruce helps ensure that each home is not only guest-ready, but well-maintained behind the scenes. From preventative maintenance to larger repair projects, his involvement allows us to respond quickly, maintain quality standards, and protect the long-term value of each property.
